Summer Learning Journey – Step it up
This takes part in the summer Learning Journey activitys, about this activity, we were challenge to create our own Japanese puffer fish design. For my Japanese puffer fish design, I wanted to show mine from how it all begins. For example, First, a male traces basic circular shapes, then embellishes them with ridges by swimming inwards at different angles. Next, he fills in the circle with doodles of random squiggly lines. For a finishing touch, the male gathers up pieces of dead coral and seashells to decorate his seabed creation.
I found this task pretty fun and creative.
Kia ora Dalilah,
My name is Mrs Williams and I am a supporter of the Summer Learning Journey team for the Manaiakalani Network. I’ve been commenting a lot over the past week and have been lucky enough to read many of these Puffer Fish blog posts. Yours is one of the best I’ve seen! I really enjoyed seeing the graphics you’ve made of your Puffer Fish and the way you organised you infographic into the different shapes to make it more engaging for us to read. You gave an easy to understand overview of how the male Puffer Fish creates art in order to attract females, out of sand and shells. What a fabulous creation to showcase your learning about the Puffer Fish.
Keep up the great Summer Learning Journey participation and have a lovely summer!

Kia ora Mrs Williams,
Thank you for the kind feedback about my Japanese puffer fish DLO. Iḿ really happy that you enjoyed seeing the graphics I made of my Puffer fish and how I have organised it. I am also happy to hear that this was easy to understand and overview of how the male puffer fish creates art in the sand and using shells to decorate it.
