Summer Learning Journey – Among Us Sea Safari

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

Malo lelei everyone!

For this outstanding blog post, we were to make a Among us Google slides for people on my blog to give it a try just like what your doing know! 🙂

We were first given a few steps on how to start off the game and as soon as we were slowly getting it, we finally getting to start on our questions that will be set up for you all and ready to be answerd. While making this presntion, it was really diffculte to see what type of questions I should do. The thing I found confusing is I didn’t know if we could do any theme on the questions so I just did Disney characters mixed with ocean questions. I hope you enjoy playing!

About this activity, it was really fun and creative and also hard at the same time because I didn’t really know if there was a theme for the questions so I just did a few questions about the ocean because how our topic is about under the deep blue oceans. I found this fun because we were creating a different version on a Among us game on Google slides, isn’t that AMAZING right?

Also, if you do comment on this blog post, may I ask how many wrongs and rights did you get?

Thank you for playing 🙂

Summer Learning Journey – Cartoon Callectables

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

Kia ora everyone!

For this cool activity, we were challenged to create a Cartoon callectables that is based on sea creatures. For my sea creature, I tried to create a other version of a Koi fish and this pretty fish which I have sadly not found what was the name of that fish. DID YOU KNOW! the name that has been given to my sea animal creation is (Dorado iluminación) . A fun fact about my cartoon character, is that the name that has been given is all in Spanish, and in English it is “Goldie Lighting” because of how it has gold spots on her/him and while in the water, the gold spots lights up just like a bright normal light that we all have in our house.

Summer Learning journey – Moana Word Puzzles

Summer Learning Journey – Kick start

If you want to play my online game, click the “WordpuzzleLink” below!

WordPuzzleLink

For this activity, we were challenge to create a Word puzzle game for this weekends activity!

This Word puzzle game contains 15 words being hard to figure out and to solve with small and long diagonal, up, down, and upside down making it even harder for yourself  to solve. For my word puzzle, I made a underwater Fish diving sea creatures in Te Reo Māori to make it even more harder. This game can help you with your thinking and can be helpful, fun, and also challenging for yourself or you whanau.

This was really interesting and enjoying to create because how diffculte it is to solve but it can also help with me or you! with our thinking and how we solve stuff.

Summer Learning Journey – Japanese Puffer Fish

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

This takes part in the summer Learning Journey activitys, about this activity, we were challenge to create our own Japanese puffer fish design. For my Japanese puffer fish design, I wanted to show mine from how it all begins. For example, First, a male traces basic circular shapes, then embellishes them with ridges by swimming inwards at different angles. Next, he fills in the circle with doodles of random squiggly lines. For a finishing touch, the male gathers up pieces of dead coral and seashells to decorate his seabed creation.

I found this task pretty fun and creative.

Summer Learning Journey – Wavey Words

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

For this activity, I have made an alliteration poem and one of the letters that I have chosen was “W”.

We first started off by coming up with a sentence for each letter of the alphabet using a Alphabet Brainstorm Google drawing that was already settled up for us Manaiakalani schools around New Zealand. We were to be creative and keep to the theme of the ocean!

I hope you enjoy reading my Alliteration poem! 🙂

I found this task really helpful and creative because how fun the theme is and how we had to stick with the theme which I find really amazing!

Summer Learning Journey – Origami Fish

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

For this task, we have begined on our 2nd activty for today, and that activty is creating a 3D Origami Fish with a Rectangle of 10*15 cm.

Some things that we need to make Origami is coloring pencil (or a regular pencil) and a piece of paper. I created a yellow Origami Fish and decided to add some details on the fish like eyes, spots, lashes and a mouth. We watched 2 videos about the instructions and a tutorial of how to make origami fish. My favourite part of this task is adding details because it makes it look realistic.

I enjoyed doing this task because it helps me and others to be creative with objects and paper.

Summer Learning Journey – ‘Wanted’ Feared Fish

Summer Learning Journey – Step it up

For this cool activity, my class has begin on starting the Summer Learning Joruney Activitys since it’s nearly coming to an end of this year. About this task, we watched a few videos and did some researching about a fish that is dangerous in the pacific islands. After all of the reasearching and watching videos, we needed to make a warning poster about the fish we have chosen. As you can see, I have picked a Red lionfish because a red Lionfish are native to the warm, tropical waters of the South Pacific and Indian Oceans. It’s also know as the most gorgeous fish and dangerous to humans due to their potent venom, but incidents of people being stung are infrequent and rarely fatal. For my poster, I wanted to be different to others and make my poster colourful, sunny vibes, and lastly a bit eye catching.

In my opinion, I found this Summer Learning Journey activity really fun and creative. I like this activity because  I’m really creative with my learning and this gives me an opportunity by showing my creativity and making myself being creative during learning!

Culture Tattoo/Tatau

For this activity, we made a google slide that showcases culture tattoos or you can call it Tatau. However, this actvity is basiclly explaining why do paifica Islanders get tattoos/tatau and is there a meaning to the Tattoos?

Before we get more further in, this is how we first started, we first got into 2 and think of 3 paifica islands and find out what is the difinetion behind there tattoos. Me and my partner picked Tongan, Maori and Tuvaul as our 3 Pacifica island defining cultures. Since me and my partner likes to go all out on the designs, we decided to draw characters of the cultural traditional outfits. I drawed the people on slide 2, 4 and 6 and my partner drawed Me and her in our culture outfits explaining whats the meaning behind the 3 cultures we picked to define whats the meaning behind the tattoos/Tatau.

The culture I found hard to search about the tattoos was Tuvalu but lucky me, I asked one of my class mates that was Tuvalu if they could give me some infomation about there tattoos.

What I like about this activity is that I learnt a bunch of meanings behind tattoos and also what they use to create a design.

Creating a Maths Game

LI: to collabrate with others to deisgn and create a maths game.

Since it was nearly coming to an end for this year, this last term was about having fun so we made maths games for our little ones here at Panmure bridge school to play with next year.

Before we all started our math projects, we got into groups and beggind. For my group, we all thought of doing an online math game but then found out their was already a few groups doing there math games online, so we all used our creative minds and then thought of making a connect 4 board games. What we first did was try and getting all the crafting stuff we need to make our board game. Our game has characters that are from sonic, why we used it was because it stands out more to kids than others.

For our board game, it includes Addition, Subtraction, Multipcation and Division. If you are wondering how to play, here are instructions of how to play.

  • Find a Partner and each choose a character.
  • Rock paper scissors to decide who starts first.
  • Whoever is first closes their eyes and picks up one of the +x- cards that are faced down, whatever symbol you get is what equation you need to solve.
  • Roll the dice and the first one to answer the question right gets to put one of their tokens in a square.
  • Keep playing until one person gets 4 in a row
  • If you run out of tokens, you can swap your token with another. (Only if you have none left)

This is how you play our game the right way!

What I like about this Math task was how we get to use our creative minds and make it become to life!
